Dr. Ardeshir S. Khou is a general practitioner and practices full-scope general, Family, Emergency, and cosmetic dentistry in his private practice in West Los Angeles. He is licensed in multiple states and has extensive experience in treating patients of all ages.
He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the World Renowned USC School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California, and was awarded the California Dental Association’s Foundation Award for his academic standing as well as his volunteering efforts to the disadvantaged community, 2 years in a row.
Dr. Khou believes everyone deserves quality & honest dental care. He has donated his time and effort to care for the underprivileged, here and abroad, and continues to do so regularly.
He was appointed as a Clinical Faculty and lecturer in the Division of Constitutive / Regenerative Sciences, Section of Restoratives at UCLA School of Dentistry where he worked with graduating dental students as they worked on patients and trained them in technical, clinical, ethical, and patient interaction skills.
Dr. Khou is a current and Trained Subject Matter Expert in the Field of Restorative Dentistry for the Dental Board of California (dbc.ca.gov) where he works with investigators from the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Division of Dental Examiners, where he develops opinions, reviews program materials, prepares written recommendations, and testifies as an Expert Witness on behalf of the State of California in areas including but not limited to Standard of Care and treatments provided to the general patient population.
Teaching, giving back to the community and lifelong learning are some of his passions in life. He has held prior appointments with Ostrow School of Dentistry as faculty and clinical instructor in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences, as well as the Midwestern School of Dental Medicine in Arizona. He is also a Certified Instructor of the American Heart Association and has trained dentists and dental auxiliary personnel in providing CPR and preventing Emergency scenarios in dental offices.
His dental research interests include properties of different types of pulp protectors such as liners, bases, bonding systems, and their long-term effect on teeth. Coming from a family with multiple sets of twins, he is also interested in dental anthropology in relation to twin studies. In his free time, Dr. Khou enjoys playing soccer, hiking, photography and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
